Super Sunday winner...Fuhrsty $19.30 wins for PPD Club members
Sunday, March 14, 2010
Posted @ 7:04 pmYet another massive tipping strike for the PPD Club on Sunday...FUHRSTY $19.30/$5.80 won for our Daily Specials section at the Albury meeting. The longshot collect followed big winners on Saturday. Club chief Brian Blackwell nabbed The Australian Cup 1st/2nd with just 2 selections, ZIPPING $6.00 and SIRMIONE 2nd $7.50/$2.80, and also tipped the Randwick Guineas winner SHOOT OUT $3.30. Our NZ man Neil Franklyn's sole 'best bet' for the day was Ellerslie winner LEMONADE $3.50 ($8.00 was available on fixed odds). On Sunday, we gave 2 selections at the Sha Tin meeting in Hong Kong for one winner, PIZZAZZ $5.50.

BB does it again...Zipping $6.00-Sirmione $7.50 quinella-exacta...and Shoot Out $3.30!
Sunday, March 14, 2010
Posted @ 2:54 pmPPD Club 'King of the Longshots' Brian Blackwell was in great form again on Saturday. He gave our members the Australian Cup quinella and exacta of ZIPPING 1st $6.00 and SIRMIONE 2nd $7.50/$2.80, plus the winner of the Randwick Guineas, SHOOT OUT $3.30. The Australian Cup trifecta of $1378 could have been easily landed by taking the Field for 3rd at a cost of only $24! Here's how BB advised our members:
SHOOT OUT 1st $3.30: Good form, good draw, top rider, ace trainer, right distance...That's one hand of factors to suggest the Queensland raider (4) Shoot Out 5/2 is the prime prospect for race 6, the Randwick Guineas 1600m at Randwick on Saturday. I was in punting despair watching the 3YO get beaten into 2nd/13 in the grp 2 Hobartville Stakes 1400m at Rosehill last start on Feb 27. He should have won by a couple of lengths but there was a 'holdup' near the 200m and he lost vital momentum. Before that he'd won with a strong finale in the Royal Sovereign at Grp 2 level at Randwick on Feb 13. Make no mistake, this is a top-class galloper. Stathi Katsidis is the right jockey to have aboard in what will more than likely be a highly-competitive mile. Fellow Queenslander (7) Captain Sonador 9/1 poses a threat at decent eachway odds.
ZIPPING 1st $6.00/$2.50, SIRMIONE 2nd $2.80, Quinella $24.90, Exacta $47.40, Trifecta $1378.40: Bart Cummings has done us plenty of favors in the last decade with a string of big-race winners and I am relying on the 'master blaster' again by selecting (4) Sirmione 6/1 to win race 8, the Grp 1 wfa Australian Cup at Flemington. The 6YO has the right formlines as far as wfa racing is concerned, and as far as the 2000m is concerned. He's an Australian Cup winner and an LKS Mackinnon Stakes winner and next to the Cox Plate they are the two great middle-distance races on the calendar at wfa level. Okay, those wins were back in late 2007 and early 2008 but Sirmione is still under veteran status and his first-up 3rd in the Orr Stakes at Grp 1 over 1400m showed he still has the old zip. He can win today but he'll have a fight on his hands from that old marvel (3) Zipping 5/1. He likes the Flemington track and he's potent at the 2000m.

It's a big $1,049 quadrella strike for PPD Club's followers
Friday, March 12, 2010
Posted @ 1:06 pmThe power of the ratings...Our ImpactPro ratings have a huge army of followers and they were given the opportunity of a big win on Thursday when the ratings landed the $1,049 quadrella for an $81 outlay at the Bendigo meeting. The winners were CROZZLE $4.80, TENZING $2.90, SHERPA $4.60 and PLAY AGAIN $12.40. At the Hawkesbury meeting, ImpactPro assessed 4 races and nabbed three winners, all top-rated selections...MALUCKYDAY $2.50, SASA $2.00, FLASHING AURA $2.80. Our Daily Specials section landed ISOLA $4.20 at Hawkesbury.
BB nabs more winners...Jet Surge $4.00, Quirina $6.80 win on Wednesday
Wednesday, March 10, 2010
Posted @ 11:02 pmMore superb tipping from the PPD Club's editor Brian Blackwell on Wednesday...BB assessed 2 races for the Daily Specials section and landed both winners ands both quinellas and exactas. He tipped JET SURGE $4.00/$1.50 at the Gold Coast and named the 'danger' as the runner-up COUNT SPUR 2nd $8.10/$2.80. The quinella paid $11.00 and the exacta returned $15.00. A Field bet for 3rd in in the trifecta (cost $18) paid $135. BB struck again in the final race at Sandown Hillside, scoring with QUIRINA $6.80/$2.30 and the runner-up SPONTANEOUS 2nd $3.50/$1.50. The quinella and exacta returned $12.20 and $25.00 and the trifecta (using the Field for 3rd for a bet of $14) paid $205.90. Brian's sole Longshot bet for the day was GOLAGO 2nd $8.90/$2.80. Here's how Brian advised our members to back Jet Surge:
I fancy (8) Jet Surge 4/1 is a colt with a bright future so I'm expecting a winning performance from him in race 4, a 2YO hdcp 1200m, at the Gold Coast. The Jet Spur colt, trained by Bryan Guy at the Gold Coast, turned in a terrific debut run for 4th/12 to Huff And Puff at Eagle Farm 1000m on Feb 13. He was back near last on the turn and flashed home late 2.4 lens from the winner. If he's gone on OK from that run he's going to be hard to beat at his home track and over the longer trip. Damien Browne rides and he's reliable. The main threat could come from stablemate (3) Count Spur 11/2, a last start 3rd at the Sunshine Coast (cushion) 1000m on Feb 28 when first-up since last Nov 7.

Sir Nick $6.70, Capecover $6.30 PLUS the Adelaide Cup quinella & exacta!
Monday, March 8, 2010
Posted @ 10:54 pmMore terrific winners from PPD Club chief Brian Blackwell on Monday...including the $17.60 quinella and $37.70 exacta in the Adelaide Cup. BB named only 2 chances for the big race, the winner CAPECOVER $6.30 and the runner-up KERDEM. But that's not all. BB's headlined Longshot tip was SIR NICK 1st $6.70 at Warwick Farm (one of the best-backed runners all day after being listed 60/1 overnight!). Here's what he told our members about Sir Nick:
Sir Nick's form can hardly be faulted. The Hussonet 4YO has won three of his last 5 starts, the latest a 1300m win at Warwick Farm in OMW class on Feb 24. He carried 53.5kgs in that race and gets in today with 52kgs after the claim for Daniel Ganderton. His main problem is likely to be his wide gate but that's why we are getting him at cricket score odds.

Jimmy Fortunes $5.00, Decision Time $2.70 win for our Daily Specials
Monday, March 8, 2010
Posted @ 12:33 pmTwo races, 3 tips, 2 winners...That's how it was for the PPD Club's Daily Specials on Sunday. The winners were JIMMY FORTUNE $5.00 and DECISION TIME $2.70, both at the Canberra meeting. Here's how our members were advised to back the runaway winner Jimmy Fortunes:
Unluckily beaten in a Listed race last start, (4) Jimmy Fortunes 9/4 gets his chance for a second career win in race 4, a BM70 hdcp 2000m at Canberra on Sunday. Michael Clout's 4YO trailed the field into the straight in the Paramatta Cup 2000m at Rosehill on February 20 and although full of running he was blocked for a clear run in the final 200m and went to the line untested, his head on his chest! The Choisir gelding has been building up to a win and he certainly needs it after so far notching just one victory and 7 placings from 22 starts. He carried 60kgs into 2nd over 1850m at Newcastle two starts back; that was 7kgs over the Limit in the Class 1 race. He's a good horse, no doubt about that, and all he needs is his fair share of luck.

BB strikes again...Longshot tip Breakaway Boy $11.90 wins at Kyneton
Tuesday, March 2, 2010
Posted @ 7:25 pmHe's landed another big one! Yes, the PPD Club's amazing 'King of the Longshots' Brian Blackwell has struck with another superb winning tip. On Tuesday, he told our members to back Kyneton winner BREAKAWAY BOY 1st $11.90/$3.40. BB's performance in tipping big winner after big winner is nothing short of stupendous. Here's how he advised members to back Breakaway Boy:
Sometimes we can get too carried away by one good performance, but quite often it pays not to ignore such a one-off effort, and this is what I'm doing in going for (6) Breakaway Boy 12/1 in race 7, a Cl 2 hdcp 1850m at Kyneton. The 6YO grey, formerly trained and raced in Queensland, has raced only once in Victoria and turned in a sharp effort to finish 7th/13 at Warrnambool 1400m in RB72 on Feb 22, btn only 1.5 lens. He was well back in last place to the turn and went to the line boldly without being knocked around. It was a run that signalled he needed more ground and that's what he gets today. In Queensland, his form w3as, to say the least, ordinary, which makes his return to racing in Victoria all that more pleasing. Maybe the change of scenery and trainer has made the difference?

Amazing tipping...BB nabs Mattymac $12.10, Lacada Siren $7.30, Laspiel $6.10!
Sunday, February 28, 2010
Posted @ 1:36 pmAbsolutely amazing! That's the only way to describe the recent tipping performance of PPD Club editor Brian Blackwell...The 'King of the Longshots' has pulled off a string of great winners and the winning streak was maintained on Sunday when his sole longshot special MATTYMAC $12.10 won easily at Pakenham and he landed a Daily Specials tip ECLAIR MYSTIC $1.50 at Seymour.. On Saturday, BB scored with NOT A PRETENDER $3.60 at Caulfield and on Friday his followers had a fantastic time with winners LACADA SIREN $7.30, LASPIEL $6.10 and MY EMOTION $4.50. Here's how BB advised our members to back Mattymac and Lacada Siren:
MATTY MAC 1ST $12.10
The last start 7th of (9) Mattymac 10/1 was a better run that it might seem so I'm giving him another chance in race 4, a Mdn Plate 1770m at Pakenham on Sunday. The Bel Esprit 3YO, trained by Steve Theodore, got well back to the turn in a Mdn 1600m at Benalla on Feb 16 and tended to run about a bit in the straight. In the final 100m, though, he was travelling sweetly to finish 5.7 lens from the winner. Today's extra journey is in his favor. Two starts back I noted his strong run for 3rd/14 over 1400m at Wangaratta on Feb 8. Today I fancy he is going over the ideal trip.
LACADA SIREN 1st $7.30
If she's OK second-up from a spell then (8) Lacada Siren 8/1 appeals strongly for race 7, a BM70 hdcp 1400m at Randwick-K on Friday. I like the formlines of this Kris Lees trained 4YO mare. She returned from a long spell on Feb 6 and scored a nice win in BM60 f&m class 1200m at Newcastle, carrying 59kgs against a 53kgs Limit. That was her first start since her 4th/19 in the grp 1 Qld Oaks 2400m behind Purple (btn 3 lens) on May 30 last year. Three starts back she ran 2nd/11 over the Randwick 2000m trip on May 23, btn a length by Bid Spotter. I think she can settle midfield in today's race and then finish powerfully.

BB nabs 2 Daily Specials winners at $9.50 and $3.10 on Wednesday
Wednesday, February 24, 2010
Posted @ 6:26 pmOnce again, PPD Club editor Brian Blackwell has come up with a stunning tipping performance...On Wednesday, he gave 4 Daily Specials tips in three races for 2 winners...CROSS STREET $9.50/$2.80 and STARMON $3.10, both at the Sandown Hillside meeting. Here's what BB told our members in advising them to back Cross Street:
Cross Street, from the David Hayes camp, ran a close 4th/6 at Sale 1100m Mdn on Feb 7 but was very green and only got going in the final 50m. She ran a length 2nd to Hanks at her previous start at Sandown-H 1300m on Sep 16, and was 9th/15 to Starspangledbanner at grp 3 at Caulfield 1200m on debut.
And here's how BB advised members to back the heavily-supported Starmon:
Former NZer (4) Starmon 5/1 shaped well enough last start to suggest she's a top chance for race 3, an RB78 hdcp F&M 1800m at Sandown Hillside. The Mick Kent trained 4YO had good form in NZ. At her last 2 starts there she ran 3rd/16 at Te Rapa 1400m and 2nd/10 at Tauranga 1600m on Oct 26 and Nov 14. She's now had 3 runs in Australia and did well in all of them, especially last start. She came from well back on the rails to run on steadily into 6th/14 behind Flying Monty over 2000m in RB89 F&M class at Flemington on Jan 30. The shrewd Mick Kent has given the mare almost a month off and brings her back 200m. I think she'll be nice and sharp. Brent Evans's claim (1.5kgs) will bring her weight impost down to 54.5kgs.
Our ImpactPro ratings enjoyed a great time at Sandown Hillside...Four races were assessed for 3 winners - WOOKAH $17.20, DON COLUMBO $8.80 and TELL THE STORY $13.90.

Little Isabel $5.10 lands the money for PPD's Daily Specials
Wednesday, February 24, 2010
Posted @ 8:12 amOnly 2 Daily Specials tips from PPD Club editor Brian Blackwell on Tuesday...and LITTLE ISABEL $5.10 landed the money at Queanbeyan. Here's how our members were advised to back this excellent winner:
Bold performances at her latest 2 starts signal another top run from (9) Little Isabel 7/2 in race 8, a BM50 hdcp 1100m at Queanbeyan. This 4YO mare looks a real improving type. She won a Mdn 1100m at Qbyn on Jan 16, scoring by 1.5 lens, and then was a close 2nd/15 over 1000m in Cl 1 at Goulburn on Jan 29. That was a particularly impressive performance. She has a wide gate to overcome here but I fancy she's smart enough to do it.

2 winners pull in 80% Daily Specials profit on Saturday
Monday, February 22, 2010
Posted @ 9:17 amNice profits from Brian Blackwell's Daily Specials tips on Saturday...From 5 selections in 3 races, BB scored with TOOTSIE $5.00 and AGE OF HEROES $4.00. Our UK man was right on the ball, too. His 2 selections at the big Ascot jumps meeting were both winners, BESHABAR $2.40 and BURTON PORT $1.70. BB followed up with another winner on Sunday, BOLTON $1.50 from 2 tips for the day.
Another Daily Specials winning tip...Hide 'N' Dash $7.50 scores on Wednesday
Wednesday, February 17, 2010
Posted @ 11:33 pmHe's done it again! PPD's Brian Blackwell scored with a terrific headlined Daily Special on Wednesday. His tip was Warwick Farm winner HIDE 'N' DASH $7.50/$2.20. BB also gave 2 eachway specials in the 5th race at Warwick Farm, nabbing SUPERIOR INSTINCT 2nd $26.00/$6.00 and TOPI 3rd $8.50/$3.30. Here's how he advised PPD Club members to back Hide 'N' Dash:
I suggest we ignore the last start defeat of (4) Hide 'N' Dash 15/2 and give her another chance in race 6, a BM70 hdcp (fillies and mares) 1400m at Warwick Farm on Wednesday. Bob Thomson's 4YO struck trouble mid-race and lost her handy position in a BM85 f&m 1600m at Randwick on Jan 30. Then, in the straight, Kathy O'Hara went for the rails run but was chopped out passing the 200m. The gam,e was up then and Kathy didn't push her too hard in the final 50m. She wound up 7th/9, btn 3 lens. I think we can take the base formlines via her 2nd/14 at Randwick 1600m on Jan 26 and her two wins at Kembla Grange at 1300m and 1200m on Jan 16 and Jan 2. KG form usually works out well on the city tracks.

Another eachway special winner...Mister Ceriani $5.70 scores for PPD Club
Tuesday, February 16, 2010
Posted @ 6:52 amPPD Club editor Brian Blackwell landed yet another eachway special tip on Monday...His sole selection for the day was Terang winner MISTER CERIANI $5.70/$2.30. And here's what BB (the King of the Longshots) told Club members:
After his bold run into 3rd last start, (11) Mister Ceriani 13/2 should be one of the main chances for race 5, a Mdn Plate (highweight) 1850m at Terang on Monday. Aaron Purcell's 3YO came from well back on the rails into the straight to finish stoutly over the final 100m for 3rd/12 over the Terang 1850m on Jan 25. He was only a half length away. He's now having the fifth run of his career and should be right at his peak.

Just one Daily Specials tip...and Lady Avacan wins (dead-heat) Naracoorte Cup
Monday, February 15, 2010
Posted @ 10:00 amBacked for a stack and ends up a dead-heat winner! That's how it was for Brian Blackwell's only Daily Specials tip for LADY AVACAN $3.00 (in from $7.50) in the 2000m Naracoorte Cup on Sunday. Here's how BB advised our members to back Lady Avacan:
Taking a formline via her best form recently, (3) Lady Avacan 13/2 appeals as the best eachway chance in race 7, the Naracoorte Cup 2000m at Naracoorte SA on Sunday. I listed the 5YO mare in our Daily Notebook section after her luckless 5th/15, btn 1.4 lens, behind Coppervue and Growl at Flemington 2000m on Jan 16. She had little room to stretch out in the final 100m and finished right on the heels of the first four placegetters. That run followed her Woodford Cup win at Warrnambool 1700m on Dec 27. Last start, Lady Avacan finished only 9th/16 over 1800m at Morphettville on Jan 30 but I think we can ignore that defeat. She's proven at track and distance and she's trained on the track.

ImpactPro nails it...Turffontein $14.60 heads string of 6 Saturday winners
Sunday, February 14, 2010
Posted @ 9:28 amAnother winning day for followers of the PPD Club's ImpactPro ratings on Saturday with SIX winners, including William Reid Stakes winner TURFFONTEIN $14.60, plus STILLME $11.40, ALVERTA $7.20, ARIARNI $4.90, ZARITA $2.00 and UNSUPERVISED $3.10. Club editor Brian Blackwell's Daily Specials missed out with ITSTHEONE 3rd $6.40 the closest. On Friday, Brian nailed CALL ME CHRISSIE $6.10 at Canterbury and SYLCARN $2.50 at Pakenham. here's how BB advised members to back Call Me Chrissie:
There's a strong formline behind the latest start of (9) Call Me Chrissie 11/2 and I fancy she's the one to beat in race 5, a BM70 hdcp 1900m at Canterbury. The 5YO grey mare raced near the rear to the turn in a BM74 2000m hdcp at Randwick on Jan 16 and then speared along the inner with a bold finale to wind up 2.9 lens 3rd/13 to Straight Edge and Hawk Island, who went to score a big win at Rosehill 2000m last Saturday. Call Me Chrissie was a Rosehill 1800m winner in mares class at BM69 level three runs back and then ran 6th/13 over 1900m there in BM75 behind Carnegie's Cruzin on Jan 2. These are all excellent formlines.

BB tips Tolart $5.80 and Sirmione 3rd 80/1 on Saturday
Sunday, February 7, 2010
Posted @ 10:25 amAnother crackerjack headlined Daily Specials winner from PPD Club editor Brian Blackwell on Saturday...He landed TOLART $5.80/$2.20 at Doomben. BB also gave his Longshot followers another super eachway tip...SIRMIONE 3rd 80/1 (place $7.30) in the Orr Stakes at Caulfield. BB told our members: 'Sirmione is despised in the betting but he has a smart enough 1400m rating to suggest he could be a chance off a hot pace.' And here's how he advised them to back Tolart at Doomben:
Three bold runs after a spell should have (9) Tolart 13/4 right at her peak for race 4, an OMW hdcp 1640m at Doomben on Saturday. Kelly Schweida's 5YO flashed home for 3rd/16 over the Eagle Farm 1600m last start on Jan 23. That followed her 3rd/10 at Doomben 1350m on Jan 13. In both races she closed strongly. I like the fact that the Kiwi jockey Damian Browne is aboard. He roder Tolart last start. He's one of the very best riders in Brisbane.

Vespasian $5.70 lands another eachway special for PPD Club
Friday, February 5, 2010
Posted @ 11:07 pmMore profit...The PPD Club's Brian Blackwell nailed another longshot special coup on Friday. In a bracket selection at Canberra he tipped the winner VESPASIAN $5.70/$3.10 and the 3rd placegetter TRIPLE OH $10.20/$3.30, and here's how he passed on the advice to our members:
No luck last start for both (15) Vespasian 12/1 and (16) Triple Oh 16/1 at their latest starts, but I suggest we'll see better of them in race 3, a Mdn hdcp 1300m at Canberra on Friday. The Danny Williams trained 4YO Vespasian was victim of a poor ride by an inexperienced apprentice when 9th/13 at Goulburn 1300m Mdn on Jan 29. His previous form contains several promising runs, especially his 3rd/8 at Canberra 1600m on Dec 13, when he was btn only 2.2 lens. Nathan Berry takes over and he's as reliable a younger rider as you can get. Triple Oh ran into trouble in the straight in a Mdn 1400m at Canberra on Jan 22. I suggest we forget that 5.7 lens 6th/14 and instead take the formline via his 5th/12 at Canberra 1600m on Jan 8, when he finished strongly.
Sensational: BB tips Satu San $17.50 for PPD Club members on Tuesday!
Tuesday, February 2, 2010
Posted @ 11:53 pmSensational...That's the only word to describe yet another tipping coup by the PPD Club's 'King of the Longshots' Brian Blackwell. After tipping BLEVIC BAY $12.00 on Monday, mighty BB followed up with SATU SAN $17.50 at Warrnambool on Tuesday! What a tipster...and you can secure his daily selections for just $1.20 a day by becoming a member of the PPD Club. Join now...Don't miss any more of BB's fantastic tips. Here's what he told our members about Satu San and why they should back it in race 8 at Warrnambool:
Satu San is, of course, the 'live' longshot prospect. Seeing is believing and what I saw from the tough 8YO last start was a sizzling final 200m into 4th/12 over 1400m in RB68 at W'bool on Jan 19. He was gobbling up the ground and finished only 4 lens from the winner. That was Satu San's first run since last June 24 when he ran 3rd over hurdles 3300m at Sandown Lakeside. His flat form is not too bad at all, so even though he's 2nd-up I fancy local trainer Cieran Maher will have him prepped to fire.
BB does it again...'King of the Longshots' tips Blevic Bay $12.00

Posted @ 11:47 pmAnother stunning Daily Specials winner from the 'King of the Longshots' Brian Blackwell on Monday! He advised members of the PPD Club to put their money on Stawell winner BLEVIC BAY $12.00/$3.20 in the final race...and home he came with a withering burst from last on the turn. It's winners like this that make BB the very best longshot tipster in Australia. He just keeps on pulling out the BIG winners. Here's what he told PPD Club members:
Local 4YO (2) Blevic Bay 14/1 has the capacity to pull out a big performance fresh from a break in race 8, an RB62 hdco 1310m at Stawell on Monday. It's the Blevic gelding's first start since he ran 11th/12 at W'bool 1700m RB68 on Oct 25. I am inclined to forget his last 2 runs, and concentrate on his better performances. Three runs back he was an RB62 winner at Warracknabeal 1600m on Sep 5, conceding the runner-up 3kgs and winning by a half length. The run that really grabs me is his first-up 7th/13 at Swan Hill 1300m RB68 on Aug 10. He was btn 3.9 lens but was closing rapidly after racing back and wide all the way. Now racing on his home track, where he's had 2 starts for a win and a 2nd, Blevic Bay may well be tuned up.

Maitresse $3.20 lands another Daily Specials win on Friday
Saturday, January 30, 2010
Posted @ 11:27 amAnother winning Daily Specials tip from PPD Club editor Brian Blackwell on Friday...MAITRESSE $3.20 at Mornington, and here's how BB advised our members to get on this runaway winner:
The Rob Griffiths trained (9) Maitresse 3/1 ran on stoutly over 1210m last start so I fancy she's going to relish the rise to 1527m in race 3, a Mdn Plate, at Mornington on Friday. The Commands 4YO raced well back settling down and then moved up on the inner into the straight in Mdn 1210m aty Mornington on Jan 8. She hit full power from the 100m mark to finish 2.3 lens from the winner, the well-backed Rusty Ago Go, who had enjoyed a cosy run all the way. At her previous start, Maitresse ran 2nd at Mornington 1200m, btn 3.5 lens, and again finishing strongly. She's already been sent over 1600m and finished 2nd at Bairnsdale last May 30.
