Blue Diamond winner Miracles Of Life will resume in the Group 3 H.D.F McNeil Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on August 31 after the unbeaten filly impressed in a barrier trial at Morphettville, reports Racing Victoria. Appearing as though she has lost none of her trademark brilliance, the daughter of Not A Single Doubt recorded considerably the fastest time of the morning in winning her 1000m trial by 6.5 lengths.

Wrapt with the performance, trainer Daniel Clarken said he would wait until after the McNeil Stakes before deciding whether Miracles Of Life is targeted towards the Schweppes Thousand Guineas (1600m) or the Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m).

“She was very impressive, she’s done everything we need her to do,” Clarken said.

“Lauren (Stojakovic) couldn’t hold her any slower on the corner so she just slipped her a little bit of reign and let her idle to the line.

“She had a nice little blow after her trial this morning, we were going to run in the Quezette Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield this week but we thought she might have been a little bit underdone.

“If we do head towards the Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400m) then that should give us a good guide as to whether we press on towards the Thousand Guineas.”

Unbeaten in four career starts, including a last-start victory in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m), Clarken said that although Miracles Of Life was never going to be an overly large filly, he was encouraged by the natural progress she has made.

“She’s still not a monster but she’s certainly thickened up,” he said.

Further highlighting Miracles Of Life’s trial performance, the unbeaten Eclair Big Bang, who holds a nomination for the BECK Caulfield Guineas, finished in third position, with Murtle Turtle, who is also nominated for the Thousand Guineas, coming home in fifth.
