A number of horses who have expressed an appreciation for the spacious Flemington track over the past week are a chance of returning to Australia's most famous racecourse when it hosts its third meeting in 11 days this Saturday.

Three winners from last Saturday's meeting have been entered across the eight-event card, along with four horses who saluted at last Wednesday's transferred Moonee Valley fixture.

This Saturday's meeting is another program that was originally scheduled to be run at the nearby Moonee Ponds circuit.

Three of the last-start Flemington winners have been entered for the day's feature, the $70,000 Geoff Torney Cup (1600m).

Gail, who made it two Flemington wins from her past three starts with victory in Saturday's 0-89 Handicap over 1700m, is in line to back-up alongside the Bart Cummings-trained Goldstone and Shane Nichols' Ladramahs, who both won last Wednesday.

Gail has also been entered for the Fillies and Mares 0-89 Handicap (2000m), in which another of last Wednesday's winners - Model To Nite - has also been entered.

The latter, who is trained on the track by Nigel Blackiston, is also among the nominations for the fourth heat of the Banjo Paterson Series (2000m), in which the Darren Weir-trained Magnifique Soleil and last-start Caulfield winner Montgomery head the entries.

Magnifique Soleil's stablemate Manhattan Maid and the Patinack Farm-raced Steep are Saturday's other winners who have been entered.

Steep, who made it back-to-back wins with his win on Saturday, has been entered for the 2YO Handicap over 1200m, while Manhattan Maid is a chance to make it three Flemington wins in her past four starts in the 1410m 3YO Handicap.

The Ricky Maund-trained Rapidement, who won at $21 last Wednesday, is among the entries for the 1200m Mares Handicap, in which Let's Be Happy, the mega-consistent Rue Maple and classy Robbie Griffiths-trained four-year-old Spurcific are among her potential rivals.

The All Victorian Sprint Series is the other winter challenge that will continue at Flemington with straight-track specialist Perturbo and classy Peter Snowden-trained five-year-old Parthian head the list of entries. (www.racingvictoria.net.au)
