Golden Slipper winner Vancouver is off to the spelling paddock - and this means he'll miss the chance of a Triple Crown attack.

Trainer Gai Waterhouse's decision came as something of a shock on Monday afternoon just 48 hours after the colt's decisoive win in the Golden Slipper at Rosehill last Saturday.

Most experts tipped that Vancouver would progress to the Champagne Stakes (1600m) via the Sires Produce Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on April 4.

Now the Sydney 2YO Triple Crownbid is abandoned - meaning that Ga has her sights set on a huge spring with Vancouver, who will be aimed at the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) and probably the Cox Plate (2040m).
