NEW ZEALAND whiz-kid James McDonald looks like spending most of the spring in Australia, splitting his time between Sydney and Melbourne, and the in-demand apprentice will ride at Warwick Farm this weekend, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

It says: He has the ride on All Silent in the Warwick Stakes for Grahame Begg and Golden Slipper placegetter Elite Falls in the Silver Shadow Stakes and should pick a full book of rides as trainers clamour for his services.

''We need another rider of his quality in Sydney and I have no doubt he will be well supported,'' Begg said. ''You just have to see what he has done at the meetings he has ridden at here already. He rides winners and there are not that many who fit in so comfortably, so quickly.''
