TOMMY Berry added to his impressive Hong Kong season yesterday with a treble at Sha Tin on the second last meeting of the season. Berry rode winners for John Moore (Smart Man), Francis Lui (Columbia Line) and Sean Woods (So Cafe) to take his season’s tally to 23.

Zac Purton added one more winner to his season-defining and premiership-winning effort  to take his season tally to 111.

With the last meeting at Sha Tin on Sunday, Purton needs a treble to match Douglas Whyte’s mark of 114 winners, the most ever in a Hong Kong season.

Joao Moreira stole the spotlight away from Berry with a quartet of winners to take his season’s tally to 96.

Brett Prebble’s season is over after he was found guilty on a careless riding charge.

Not only did stewards rule the penalty start immediately - they can be deferred in Hong Kong - but he was also fined the equivalent of $4,750 in lieu of another meeting.
