This is a short blog, because I want to make the point and leave you to ponder it tomorrow afternoon.

Caulfield is notorious for having differing "running styles" favoured. More often than not, it's the ones on the pace, even the leaders, that get the breaks. Experienced Melbourne trainer Tony Noonan makes this very point in today's Sportsman.

So, for the Blue Diamond meeting, and using the same paper, IF you were keeping this possibility in the front of your mind, where would you be looking?

I'm referring to Chartform. Here are the leaders, as it defines them:

Race 1: Five of them! Too many.

Race 2: A middle distance race, but all runners are backmarkers. Let that one remain a mystery.

Race 3: Zelsnitz and Sayahailmary.

Race 4: Nobody here.

Race 5: More Joyous and King Mufhasa.

Race 6: Avenue, Solar Charged and Faster Son.

Race 7: Masthead and Avenay.

Race 8: Nobody again.

Race 9: Culminate and Red Flair.

There are some nice horses in that lot.

Amongst them there are favourites and outsiders, along with proven Caulfield performers.

Just keep an eye on things and see how this plays. Of course, if it's the wrong day... and that's the big IF... all the bets are off, and you'll need to investigate things on another day.
