Leading Victorian trainer Peter Moody will have a Sydney presence from January 1 next year after being granted 10 boxes at Rosehill.

The conditioner of champion Black Caviar, Moody is based at Caulfield in Melbourne where he has been premier trainer for the past two seasons.

"Peter has had great success on the Sydney racing scene when travelling horses from Melbourne and the addition of a permanent base here will be a great asset to his operation," Australian Turf Club executive general manager Matt Rudolph said.

"Punters can expect to see an increased presence of his string of runners early in the New Year.

"Come Sydney carnival time, the Sydney base will become pivotal to his preparations for the autumn's glamour races.

"This may include Black Caviar if connections decide her last Australian start will be in Sydney before she takes on the world."

Black Caviar is currently being readied for her comeback in the Group Two Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley on January 27.

She will then head to the C F Orr and Futurity Stakes in Melbourne ahead of a trip to Sydney for one or two runs over the autumn carnival.

Her main goal is the Royal Ascot carnival in June when she will get the chance to showcase her talent internationally for the first time.
