A month ago Daniel Ganderton thought Mr Edison might have been ready for the spelling paddock.

The gelding had just finished fifth in a 2100m event at Warwick Farm at the eighth run of his campaign and the jockey believed the five-year-old "raced flat" that day.

But Bart Cummings knows a thing or two about training racehorses and Mr Edison has since hit back with two straight wins with the prospect of another at Randwick on Saturday.

Ganderton reunites with Mr Edison in the Start Of Summer 27/11 Handicap (2000m) after missing his most recent win at Rosehill on October 23 after injuring his knee two days before that race.

"It was disappointing to miss the ride last start, it was just one of those things," Ganderton said.

"He's racing really well and is as tough as teak.

"He's stood up to a long preparation, he seems to be at the top of his game at the moment and I know the stable is happy with him going into Saturday."

Two starts ago Ganderton held Mr Edison up until well into the straight and the son of Fantastic Light responded with the final crack at his rivals to win over 2000m at Randwick.

"When things pan out for him he's got a terrific turn of foot for a stayer," Ganderton said.

"He's drawn soft (barrier one) again on Saturday which is going to be important as he'll be able to get a smother in the run."

Ganderton is also keen to have his first ride on the Cummings-trained I Think I Do under race conditions in the AJC National Event Caterer 2010 Handicap (1600m).

I Think I Do is a last-start midweek winner over 1600m at Warwick Farm at just his second start and stable foreman James Cummings predicted a nice future over longer distances for the lightly-raced galloper when he matures.

Ganderton has ridden the colt in work and also believes he could develop into a Derby candidate in the autumn.

"He's a nice progressive horse," the jockey said.

I Think I Do is by Redoute's Choice out of Wakeful Stakes winner Quays who was also placed in both the AJC Australian Oaks and Queensland Oaks in 2002.
