More Joyous will undergo a thorough veterinary examination before owner John Singleton commits her to Saturday's Cox Plate clash with So You Think.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained More Joyous is the second favourite for Australia's weight for age championship at Moonee Valley, with defending champion So You Think odds-on.

Singleton said More Joyous appeared to have come through her Toorak Handicap win in great order but he would not hesitate to pull the pin on a Cox Plate start if the slightest problem was detected on Monday morning.

"She is being vetted by John Peatfield and if there is anything wrong with her at all, if she doesn't vet perfectly tomorrow morning, then taking on Mike Tyson, no, she can be saved for the Myer," Singleton told Sydney's Sky Sports Radio on Sunday.

"I wouldn't risk her or risk losing her.

"At the moment it's 90-10 and there would have to be something not quite right not to run her.

"I hope it's positive because it will be such a good race.

"I'm not saying she'll win but it could be one of those great races - one for the ages."

"Everything points to having a go unless something goes wrong."

More Joyous and So You Think are scheduled to have their final fast workouts at Moonee Valley on Tuesday morning."

Waterhouse, who won Saturday's Caulfield Cup with Descarado, will not back Herculian Prince up in the Cox Plate (2040m).

The Metropolitan Handicap winner was among those who struggled in the heavy going and he finished ninth of the 18 runners.

Descarado's win was Waterhouse's fourth Group One victory of the new season and her first in the Caulfield Cup.

The Cox Plate has already lost reigning Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy with trainer Peter Moody and mare's owners electing to bypass the race in favour of the Myer Classic (1600m) against her own sex a week later.

So You Think was at $1.50 with TAB Sportsbet on Sunday with More Joyous at $6.50.

Shoot Out ($11) was next with Turnbull Stakes winner Zipping a $13 chance ahead of his fourth attempt at the race.

The veteran was unplaced in 2007 then second in 2008 and third last year.
