Takeover Target's half-brother Predatory Pricer returned to work on Tuesday as he builds towards the AJC Australian Derby in the autumn, and trainer Paul Murray could not be happier with the Group winner.
"He's put on 35kg and matured quite a lot and has returned in terrific order," Murray said.
Predatory Pricer has not raced since finishing second to Sousa in the Group One Spring Champion Stakes at Randwick in October.
Prior to that he won the Group Three Gloaming Stakes after scoring in the Listed Ming Dynasty.
The Street Cry colt has a busy autumn ahead of him with the Randwick Guineas (1600m), the Rosehill Guineas (2000m) and the 2400m Derby his targets.
"We'll just see how he goes with his work before we start looking at exactly when he will resume but the Guineas' races will be on the agenda at some point and the Derby his grand final," Murray said.
Meanwhile, stablemate Phenomenal Lass has exceeded Murray's expectations and will race again at Rosehill on Saturday week.
The Country Reel filly scored a brilliant debut victory at Randwick last Saturday when she defeated Shellscrape by 1-1/2 lengths.
"We had planned to put her out after Saturday but she's pulled up better than expected and she'll race over 1100 metres at Rosehill and then I'd say we'll put her out," Murray said.
