Tracey Bartley will split two of his stable guns between city and country this weekend with General's Sniper to fly the flag at Rosehill.

Bartley, trainer of multiple Group One winner Sniper's Bullet, has nominated General's Sniper and Slick Sniper for different Benchmark 80 races at Rosehill on Saturday over 1400m and 1800m respectively.

Both are also among entries for the Wauchope Cup (1518m) at Port Macquarie a day later.

"At this stage, Slick will be going to the Wauchope Cup and General's Sniper will run in the race in town," Bartley said.

"I'm not sure if Slick runs 1800 metres on those heavy tracks. On the dry it's no problem but it becomes more like a 2000-metre race on the heavy."

By Bite The Bullet out of Yallah Terrace, Slick Sniper is a full-brother to Sniper's Bullet while General's Sniper, by General Nediym, is also part of the well-performed family.

Four-year-old General's Sniper is the baby of the trio and will head into Saturday's race on the back of an all-the-way win in the mud at Canterbury on June 1.

"I thought she could win at Scone a couple of starts ago but she couldn't get to the lead," Bartley said.

"She's not a chaser, she needs to roll up on the speed. He (apprentice Adam Hyeronimus) rode her really nicely last start."

Six-year-old Slick Sniper has disappointed at his past two starts following a win at Randwick on Anzac Day and solid fourth to Dysphonia in the Scone Cup.

However, Bartley says he has had excuses, failing to handle an eight-day back-up from his Scone run and then going too hard last time out.

Bartley also reports Sniper's Bullet has pulled up well from his unplaced effort in Sincero's Stradbroke Handicap last Saturday and connections are weighing up whether to give him one more run this campaign.

"He didn't have a lot of luck in the Stradbroke," Bartley said.

"(Jockey) Michael Rodd was very happy with him and we're in two minds whether to run him here (in Sydney) in the Winter Stakes.

"I need to speak to the handicapper about what weight he'll get, although it's a quality so he'll probably get the topweight.

"There is a big chance he'll run in that."

The Listed Winter Stakes (1500m) is at Rosehill on July 15.

Bartley is also eyeing off another tilt at the back end of the Melbourne spring carnival for Sniper's Bullet, ahead of a fourth summer campaign in Perth which is likely to be the gelding's swansong.
