Trainer Guy Walter is preparing to raise the bar again for in-form mare Foxstar who will be nominated for this week's Villiers Stakes.

Walter said he would also enter her in a restricted race on Saturday's Randwick program in case he thought the field for the Group Two Villiers was shaping as too strong.

Foxstar broke her maiden status at Kembla Grange on September 11 which was followed by a second at Newcastle and three wins including two in town.

"I'll nominate her for the Villiers and another race," Walter said.

"I'll have a look at the entries before I decide whether the Villiers might be too hard for her but she has done extremely well over the past months."

Premiership leader Chris Waller is likely to have two runners - Snow Alert and Altered Boy.

Snow Alert hasn't raced since finishing seventh in the Group One Emirates Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on November 6, less than two lengths from the winner Wall Street.

The five-year-old won the Premier's Cup over 1800 metres in August before finishing second to stablemate Hawk Island in the Wyong Cup (2100m) and second to the Gai Waterhouse-trained Stratofortress in the Newcastle Cup (2300m).

He ran third in a barrier trial last week to get him ready for his Villiers assignment.

"He's going well," Waller said.

"He's been up a hell of a long time but he's not really a Doncaster horse so we decided to freshen him up and run him in the Villiers.

"He had a trial last week to keep him ticking over."

Glyn Schofield, who won Saturday's Christmas Cup on the Waller-trained Bellagio Wynn, takes the Villiers mount on Snow Alert.

Schofield begins a careless riding suspension after Villiers day which he incurred for his unplaced ride on the Waller-trained Sikka on Saturday.

Stratofortress will also run in the Villiers with Nash Rawiller aboard.

"He should get Nash's weight so he'll ride," Waterhouse representative Mark Webbey said.

Rawiller is due back in Sydney on Tuesday after a trip to Hong Kong where he rode in the international jockeys' challenge at Happy Valley, finishing third.
