Dual classic winning filly Zarita will have her next run in the Cox Plate after connections ruled her out of Saturday's Caulfield Cup.

The decision has guaranteed Godolphin's All the Good, Bart Cummings-trained Viewed and Queensland stayer Ice Chariot a start in the Cup after one them was faced with being balloted from the final field of 18.

All three were locked at equal 17th in order of entry.

Now assured of a start, Brisbane Cup winner Viewed is a chance to give Cummings his seventh Caulfield Cup after Galilee (1966), Big Philou (1969), Leilani (1974), Ming Dynasty (1977 and 1980), an Let's Elope (1991).

Viewed was a late scratching from Saturday's Yalumba Stakes when he got a hind foot caught in the barrier stall but he has subsequently pleased the stable.

Dwayne Dunn is booked to ride Zarita in the Cox Plate and she will have her first look at Moonee Valley when she gallops there on Tuesday.

Hyland said it was "commonsense" for Zarita to miss the Caulfield Cup after analysing the weights.

Zarita has 52kg in the Caulfield Cup after winning both the Australasian Oaks (2000m) and SA Derby (2500m)in Adelaide earlier this year.

"She is awfully close to the top chances in the weights," Hyland said.

"She gets a two kilo allowance for being a mare and if you put that two kilos on her 52kg she is 1.5kg away from Weekend Hussler (55.5kg), got more than weight than Yalumba Stakes winner Douro Valley (53kg), nearly up to Master O'Reilly (55kg) and she is a mile ahead of Littorio (52.5kg).

"They are the horses to beat so I think it is commonsense to go to the Cox Plate instead."

Zarita has raced four times this spring with her only placing three starts ago when second to Weekend Hussler in the Group Two Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) at Flemington.

At her last two runs Zarita finished fifth to Weekend Hussler in the Underwood Stakes (1800m) and was a fading second last in the Turnbull Stakes won by Littorio.

TAB Sportsbet quoted Zarita at $31 for the Cox Plate at Moonee Valley on October 25. She was $51 for the Caulfield Cup.

Hyland said he was happy with Zarita's campaign and believed she wasn't suited ridden so close to lead in the Turnbull.

Caulfield Cup weights will be raised 1.5kg to meet the 57kg minimum stop weight condition after final declarations close on Tuesday at 10am.

Weekend Hussler will now head the weights on 57kg, a half kilo more than Maldivian and last year's winner Master O'Reilly.
