After dominating the Flemington spring carnival, winning the Melbourne Cup on Shocking, the Victoria Derby on Monaco Consul and Emirates Stakes with All American, Corey Brown finds himself starting the new year with the plum ride on Magic Millions Classic favourite Ambers Waltz, reports Chris Roots in the Sydney Morning Herald.

The report adds: He is the hottest jockey in the country, leading the Sydney premiership on 34 wins and already has the rides lined up on Monaco Consul and nominal Golden Slipper favourite Solar Charged for the autumn.

''Everything has been going great, last season as well as this season,'' Brown said. ''I should have a good year, especially with the two-year-olds I have got on so far this year.

''I've been having a lot of luck, not only in the group races, but also in the regular midweek and Saturday, so the confidence is very high at the moment.''

Brown has four group 1s in the bag this season, also winning the The Metropolitan on Speed Gifted, but there are few richer prizes than tomorrow's $2 million Magic Millions Classic for two-year-olds and it's a race that has eluded him.

''I have been coming up here for years and haven't been able to win the two-year-olds' race, so this is a great chance,'' he said.

''It is one of the big races you want to win and I'll love to tick that box with Ambers Waltz.''

The Danehill Dancer filly has been at the top of Magic Millions betting since her debut win at Rosehill in December with Brown in the saddle.
