Banner colts Smart Missile and Helmet remain in the running to emulate So You Think in this year's $3 million Tatts Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley.

The star three-year-olds are among the 59 horses that were paid up for when second declarations for the Saturday, 22 October event were taken along with the $2.5 million BMW Caulfield Cup at midday today.

So You Think won his first Tatts Cox Plate as a three-year-old in 2009 and Smart Missile and Helmet are among six three-year-olds in the running to follow in his footsteps.

The Mike Moroney-trained Sabrage and lightly-raced Leon Corstens-trained Zabeelionaire are the other male three-year-old contenders, while Graeme and Debbie Rogerson's Dowager Queen and Patinack Farm-raced Pane In The Glass are the fillies who remain entered.

All of those most prominent in Tatts Cox Plate markets were among the second declarations, including last year's third placegetter and favourite Whobegotyou, boom Kiwi four-year-old Jimmy Choux, Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes winner Rekindled Interest and last Saturday's Group 1 winners Sincero and Lion Tamer.

Among the best-performed omissions were top Sydney miler Ilovethiscity, injured dual Group 1 winner Heart Of Dreams, this year's Queensland Oaks winner Scarlett Lady and now-retired last-start Makybe Diva Stakes winner Littorio.

Last year's Emirates Melbourne Cup winner Americain was paid up for the Tatts Cox Plate and was also among the 80 second declarations for the BMW Caulfield Cup, to be run at Caulfield on Saturday, 15 October.

Scarlett Lady, although not among the Tatts Cox Plate second declarations, retains her place in BMW Caulfield Cup contention, while fellow classy four-year-old mares Pinker Pinker and Secret Admirer were withdrawn from the BMW Caulfield Cup but remain entered for the Tatts Cox Plate.

The picture for both the BMW Caulfield Cup and Tatts Cox Plate will become even clearer when third declarations are taken on Tuesday, 4 October.
