“Light” was the operative word at Werribee this morning. Not just because the course was bathed in morning sunshine but also because all of the international residents had very sedate trackwork sessions, reports Racing Victoria.

LUCKY NINE: Just a walk and trot around the Werribee course this morning. Stables says that a serious gallop about Tuesday morning is on the agenda. (First run: Sportingbet Manikato Stakes, 1200m, 25 October)

DANDINO: Dandino stepped out for a light trot around the circuit and a slow canter over a mile. With race day nearly here, Lucia Botti – wife of trainer Marco – oversaw Dandino’s final outing and was pleased with what she witnessed. She says that although the barrier drawn wasn’t ideal, they recognise that Craig Williams was able to overcome a similar gate with Dunaden last year.  (Tomorrow: Race 10 BMW Caulfield Cup, 2400m)

SIMENON: A light trot over 1400-metres this morning with another slow canter over a mile. Not too much to report from Simenon who is just ticking over until his next race appearance at Flemington. (Next run: Emirates Melbourne Cup, 3200m, 5 November)

SIDE GLANCE: Just a light jog of a lap of the Werribee course. “Trotted around like Hercules this morning” said track rider Leanne Masterton after his Moonee Valley gallop yesterday morning. (First run: Sportingbet Cox Plate, 2040m, 26 October)

MULL OF KILLOUGH: After yesterday’s outing to Moonee Valley, trainer Jane Chapple-Hyam just led Mull Of Killough around the stable parade ring. Racing Victoria’s Leigh Jordon reports that all is fine with the horse, just a quiet morning. (First run: Sportingbet Cox Plate, 2040m, 26 October)

RUSCELLO:Another one who had a light morning, Ruscello continues to please track rider Sammy Cobley after Wednesday's run. Today's work consisted of walking a lap, trotting about 400-metres and a hack canter of about 1000-metres.  (Possible next run: Group 2 Lexus Stakes, 2500m, 2 November)

TREVIERES: Continuing to keep Trevieres ticking over until a next run is decided, a light canter from the French gelding today over 1400-metres and a gallop over about 1000-metres. (Possible next start: Group 2 Crystal Mile, 1600m, 26 October)

FORGOTTEN VOICE: Still waiting for the opportunity to gain a start tomorrow but the horse is still being prepared as though he will be going to the races. A light trot this morning over 1400-metres and a canter over a mile clicked up a touch from the 600-mark.  If he doesn’t gain a start then there will be a faster work session tomorrow. (Hopeful first run tomorrow: BMW Caulfield Cup, 2400m)
