Emerging staying star Beijing Boy kept Chris Waller's incredible winning streak at Rosehill going with a determined victory over 2000 metres.

Waller has now trained at least one winner at 18 consecutive Saturday meetings on his home track.

Beijing Boy was sent out at $2.70 in the Blackwoods Welter (2000m) with stablemate Strike One the $1.95 favourite.

Deltona ($11) jumped in front when the gates opened while Star Ripper stayed in his barrier and took no part.

Beijing Boy parked just behind Deltona and was in the perfect position when the pressure was applied in the straight.

Strike One tried to move up with him but could only get to within 1-1/4 lengths of Beijing Boy with Deltona another half length third.

"He is just a tough stayer," Waller's racing manager Liam Prior said.

"He got into a dog fight last week and has backed up with this win.

"He'll go to the Summer Cup in three weeks now while the plan is for Strike One to back up in next week's Christmas Cup."

Waller was in Perth to oversee Triple Honour's bid for the Kingston Town Stakes.

Beijing Boy beat Joe Blow in a fighting finish to an 1800 metre race at Randwick last Saturday.

While his future is bright, Star Ripper's is uncertain after his non-performance.

Stewards put a warning on him after his previous start when he missed the jump by three or four lengths.

After his latest effort, they ordered he must trial twice before returning to the races.

"His future in the stable is up in the air," James Cummings, foreman for his grandfather Bart, said.
