Stakeswinner M'Lady Pedrille is a definite Randwick starter but the calibre of Brian Crowley Stakes nominations has Ron Quinton undecided which race the filly will contest.

M'Lady Pedrille is nominated for Saturday's 1200m Listed race for three-year-olds as well as a Benchmark 75 (1400m) for fillies and mares.

The daughter of Al Maher captured her first stakes win in the Listed Reginald Allen Quality (1400m) at Randwick on September 25, defeating Zutara and subsequent Group One Flight Stakes winner Secret Admirer.

"The Brian Crowley looks a tough race and she would probably end up quite nicely placed in the other race, but no decision has been made," Quinton said.

"I'll be talking to the owners before making a decision, but she'll definitely be running on Saturday."

Quinton also has last Saturday's Rosehill winner Ofcourseican nominated to back up in the Listed City Tattersalls Lightning Handicap (1100m).

The four-year-old mare is 19th in the ballot order with 14 to gain a start.

"She turned in an excellent run on Saturday, she's one tough girl," the trainer said.

"I'm thinking of backing her up in the Lightning and then she'll go for a spell."

With only eight horses in work Quinton is certainly getting results with Ofcourseican's Rosehill win the trainer's fifth so far this season.

M'Lady Pedrille and Ofcourseican have both won two races while Bradgate Park won at Wyong last month.

The former champion jockey, who won eight Sydney premierships, also works for Racing NSW with the development of young riders.

"I still like training though and would like more horses," he said.

The Listed Brian Crowley Stakes, named the Governor Macquarie Cup this year, attracted 13 nominations including Group One winner Pressday and stakeswinners Buffering, Hinchinbrook and Obsequious.

Quinton said he would not be concerned about dropping back in distance with the speedy M'Lady Pedrille if it was decided to head that way.

"I'd be more worried about the calibre of opposition," he said.

Either way, he expects the filly to be very competitive in whatever race she lines up.

"There's no risk about that, she'll acquit herself well," he said.

Quinton has no regrets about not running the filly in the Flight Stakes a week after the Reginald Allen, despite seeing Secret Admirer scoop the Group One event.

"I had no intention of backing her up (in the Flight), there were no reservations about that," he said.

Apprentice Nathan Berry has been booked to ride M'Lady Pedrille while his twin brother Tommy has the booking for Ofcourseican.
