Stakes winner Poor Judge will undergo a full veterinary inspection on Monday to determine if he joins stablemate Bold Glance on a trip to Sydney for next month's Doncaster.

The winner of the Group Three Chatham Stakes at Flemington in October, Poor Judge produced another disappointing performance to finish last in Saturday's Gold Coast Stakes (1200m) won by Bold Glance.

The five-year-old also finished last in a field of four behind Monashee Dancer over 1000 metres at Eagle Farm on March 5, his first since his Flemington triumph.

Trainer Norm Hilton went from an emotional high with Bold Glance's half neck victory over Red Ferments to the low of watching Poor Judge labour home more than 13 lengths from his stablemate.

"I'll get Poor Judge checked over on Monday and have his blood taken but he was disappointing," Hilton said.

"He's won on a heavy track before but I didn't like the way he stopped so quickly.

"He pulled up too quick for my liking so there could be something wrong.

"I won't make a decision whether he goes to Sydney until after I get him checked over."

In contrast, Hilton couldn't have been happier with Bold Glance's victory which followed his second to Essington in the Listed Falvelon Quality (1200m) at Eagle Farm last month and his Magic Millions Cup (1400m) triumph at the Gold Coast in January.

"It all went to plan with Bold Glance. I thought he would win," Hilton said.

"He never knows when to give up and I hope now this win will boost him up the weights for the Doncaster."

Bold Glance will have his next start in the Group One George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on April 2 which will determine if the gelding starts in the Doncaster Mile (1600m) at Randwick two weeks later.

Poor Judge will be on the same path in Sydney if Hilton perseveres with him.

Jockey Shane Scriven blamed the heavy track for the defeat of Epsom Handicap winner Captain Sonador who was beaten almost six lengths intosixth place in the Gold Coast feature.

Earlier on Saturday, Gold Coast trainer Kelly Doughty and jockey Matthew Palmer combined to win the $250,000 QTIS600 Plate (1200m) with Black Cash.

Black Cash, bred by retired opal miner Dan Hatcher, ploughed through the heavy going for a 1-3/4 lengths over Kahui.

It was the biggest prizemoney win of Doughty's 16-year training career and capped a remarkable comeback for Palmer who recently returned from a seven month lay-off with a broken hand.

Doughty will give the son of Show A Heart another start before freshening him up for a tilt at the Group One T J Smith Classic (1600m) at Eagle Farm in June.
