Sunday’s Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes will be run on what Track Manager Jason Kerr has described as “perfect ground”. The Caulfield highlight will see the rail position back in the true position for the first time since July.

“We couldn’t have asked for anything better than all the rain we got on Wednesday night.

"The track got 18.8mls at the right time of the week and it has saved me having to put water on the track,” Kerr told Racing Network on Friday morning.

“I’ve rated the track a ‘dead 4’ but I’m sure we’ll get to a ‘good 3’ on Sunday.

“It should be perfect ground really,” he added.
