Eight winning tickets including one belonging to a punter who staked just STG2 have won a share of Britain's Scoop6 pool, each taking home STG437,011.39 ($A1.06 million).

The win fund reached a massive STG3,496,091 ($A8.45 million) and the eight lucky winners will now have a shot at the STG1,529,525 ($A3.7 million) bonus race next weekend, likely to be the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury.

Going into the last leg at Lingfield, 37 tickets remained, with only three of the runners not covered.

Duff, trained in Ireland by Edward Lynam, ran away with the final race, much to the delight of the eight ticket-holders.

One of the lucky winners was Racing UK presenter and Raceform Update contributor Peter Naughton, who was working for the racing channel as Duff recorded his victory.

"My hands are shaking. There are a fair few of us who have put 50 in each for the last few weeks, so we thought we would have another crack this time," Naughton told the Racing Post.

Another winner was Gold Cup-winning owner Harry Findlay who held two of the winning tickets while another Raceform Update contributor Andrew Mount was involved in a winning syndicate.

More than STG4 million ($A9.67 million) was bet on the Scoop6 this weekend, smashing last weekend's record turnover of 2 million.

Totesport spokesman Damian Walker said it had exceeded expectations.

"It has been a fantastic day for racing and the Tote," he said.

"Our turnover easily exceeded our expectations and we will be paying out those punters with a smile on our face."
